Having studied for three years with the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland in Dublin, Valerie undertook postgraduate studies in Nanjing, China, leading to a Licentiate in Acupuncture. Since returning from China she has undertaken further training in the areas of Fertility, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Cosmetic Acupuncture, Fibromyalgia/ME, MS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Endometriosis, Menstrual Irregularities & Menopause.
Valerie is a member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association (A.F.P.A.) and the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (E.T.C.M.A.). She is a fully registered practitioner.
Valerie is passionate about Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is very dedicated to her work and is well known for her emphasis on attention to detail. She is fully committed to all of her patients and offers a gentle, supportive and understanding approach while working towards her patients return to full health. She likes to involve her patients in the process of healing and as part of treatment emotional, dietary and lifestyle factors are discussed. She encourages her patients to talk about their problems, in a safe and confidential environment, and in particular their emotional response to them. She believes that emotions and illness are closely interlinked and always includes, as part of each treatment, acupuncture points to stabilize emotions. Arthur Tobin (MSc) (ANMPT)
Neuromuscular Physical Therapist
Arthur studied for three years in both Cork and Dublin with the National Training College (NTC) to complete both a Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Neuromuscular Physical Therapy. In clinic he uses a range of treatment modalities in treating patients who present with a wide variety of complex, acute and chronic conditions, including: Muscle Energy Techniques (MET’s), Positional Release, deep tissue massage and rehabilitation. He is also trained in Dry Needling techniques for the treatment of MyoFascial Trigger Points which actually account for much of the pain that is seen in a clinical setting. He is also a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach.
